Our story began over thirty years ago when Roger Flavell, a native of Connecticut, started by offering landscaping and tree removal services to homeowners in and around Ellington, CT. As oil became less popular as a heating source, Roger expanded his services to include oil tank removals for homeowners on his route. Soon after, he began selling and delivering landscaping materials, and R&R Landscaping, Tank and Tree Removal was born.

While Roger is often still behind the wheel of his rig, our company has grown to a fleet of trucks for small, medium, and large deliveries. Meet Our Team

Roger Flavell:

Roger started his entrepreneurial pursuit in the 1990s with just a single push mower. Thirty-plus years later, he continues to grow the business and is well-known to homeowners and business leaders in Tolland County. Roger loves the outdoors, so you will often see him onsite operating the equipment, estimating jobs, or in the office doing paperwork! When Roger isn't working, he enjoys taking nature walks through the woods and spending time with his family.

Emma Flavell:

Emma is Roger’s oldest Daughter; she is learning the ropes of running a successful local business. Emma is our estimator and supervises the job sites. Her goal is to be able to take over one day when her father decides to retire, passing the torch to the next generation. Emma enjoys equestrian eventing with her horses Baldwin and Apollo, during her free time. She also enjoys taking trips to the beach!

David Godek:

David is our foreman, diesel mechanic and tree removal specialist. He spends much of his workday in the air operating Clifford, our giant red spider lift. Back on solid ground, you can find David working in the garage, maintaining our equipment in peak operating condition. David Enjoys nature and creating custom slabs with some of the wood he has cut down. He grew up doing this type of work with his father doing firewood and milling in his sawmill. He also enjoys making Emma’s horses the best quality hay possible on the farm. We have exciting news: We proudly announce that David and Emma are getting married in Fall 2024! On the weekends, Dave enjoys hanging out with friends and visiting antique tractor shows.
